knitting for babes

I love it!  I can't get enough of it, and that is good since I will have a new little niece or nephew to knit for in a few short months!  Of course, once they start growing...well...nothing ever turns out how I expect.  I have started knitting a cute little vest for the newest little in my family.  And since we don't know whether the babe will be a girl or boy, I am just going with soft rather than a specific color :-)  I do love this brown though, and I think it will be perfect for a fall baby :-)

As far as reading goes, well I am in a bit of a slump.  I read all the Fifty Shades novels in about a week, and now I can't quite find something that will keep my interest for more than five seconds.  Even my beloved non-fiction is coming up short.  Instead, I have been listening to a lot of music on Pandora :-)  There is something about the Tran-Siberian Orchestra that is soothing to me!  If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

I am linking up with Ginny for her yarn along today :-)  Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a beautiful bag and teacup here.

  1. I, too, love knitting for babies. I can't wait to see how the brown knits up--love the color and you can just see how squishy that yarn is! I just started hearing about the 50 shades book this week--I will have to check them out--wow finished all the books in a week!

    1. When I find a book that I can't put down...I literally don't put it down. Let's just say that I am very sleep deprived :-) What actually helped me out this time was an amazingly sore throat that wouldn't allow me to sleep even if I wanted to, so instead I read :-)

  2. I love making baby things too Heather...but no-one seems to having any over here at the moment. I suppose there are always babies somewhere that need little things so it shouldn't stop me though. The yarn that you are using is an unusual warm brown colour and it looks so soft.

oh must go and check out your give away...sounds intriguing.

    Happy knitting,
    Deb

  3. Baby knits are quick and satisfying, aren't they? And there are so many sweet patterns out there where you can learn a new technique or two while you are at it. Enjoy your new knit and your book search. :)

  7. Before my Drew was born I knit a few Milo vests. I love them. I used gray and green. I think they are the perfect little knit for babies.

  9. Oh that's lovely. Perfect color for either a girl or a boy. I'm having the same sort of problem with reading lately; much difficulty finding something to hold my interest. I haven't read good fiction in a long time & I feel like I've read just about every non-fiction book out there that interests me! xo

  13. We've got 3 babies due among friends, so I'm looking for good baby knits. Thank you for sharing yours!
Right now, I'm loving "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". Might not be for everyone, but I can't seem to put it down.
    Blessings,

  15. I so love the image of knitting... but can only do some very very basic patterns (dishcloths, etc). I'm all into crocheting, though! Well, for every thing there is a season, and hopefully I'll get the chance to improve my knitting someday!
