The entire purpose of this book is to bring you back to Jesus, not to the many ministries in your church, not to the long to do list you have for your home, or all the outings you plan to take your kids to, it is all about Jesus. And once you realize that and step closer to Him, everything else seems secondary - which it should. But, also having this close relationship allows our actions to better exhibit God. God created us in His image, and so when we are more in tune with Him, we automatically are more available to others in a way that is pleasing to Him.
It was really an eye opener, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is feeling a bit frazzled with life.
As far as my knitting goes, last week I talked about how I was not putting pressure on myself to knit for this Christmas, because clearly we are in the end stretch here as far as crafting goes. And you know, as soon as I gave myself permission to not do it, I had all the time in the world to knit. The kids will sit with me while we watch a Christmas movie and I can just knit. So I know a few littles in my life who will be receiving handmades, and that makes me happy.
Joining Ginny and her yarn along.
I received a copy of Jesus: Pure and Simple from Bethany House for review purposes, the opinions are my own.
