On Monday I talked about how even if you are on a budget, you can still practice self-care. However, once in a while, it is definitely OK to splurge on yourself!
For me, I have a hard time splurging on myself. It seems like whenever there is an opportunity, I always choose to spend my money on my kids or husband, or someone else. I love to buy and make for others. Now, I don’t think that this is a bad thing; in fact it brings me a lot of joy. But, like I said above, once in a while, it is nice to do for me as well.
There are a lot of different ways that you can splurge on yourself, and since every person is different, I would imagine that what is a splurge for me may not be for you, and vice versa.
You can go get your nails done, get a massage, buy a few new books, get a stack of magazines, buy some luxurious yarn or other crafting supplies, buy some amazing extra virgin olive oil for bread dipping (that sounds really good to me!), get a pound of your favorite coffee.
This past August, I decided to do something to splurge on myself. I subscribed to the POPSUGARMust Have subscription box.
This is not a huge cost splurge, but it definitely is a splurge nonetheless.
The box is $39.95 and comes once a month. It contains everything from beauty, to fitness, to home items. It is definitely a lifestyle box.
My first box came in September, and I was incredibly happy with what I received. I think that a subscription box is a wonderful splurge because it isn’t incredibly expensive, but also because what is contained in the box are items that I most likely would not go out and purchase myself – because of the whole “splurging” thing!
I just received my October box yesterday, and was incredibly excited to get into it. I filmed an un-boxing video which you can watch below.
If you would like more information about the POPSUGAR Must Have subscription box, or to sign up for your own subscription, you can find that information here. And you can get $5 off your first box by using the code MUSTHAVE5
