This year I made the insane goal of reading 100 books. I am seriously behind in case you were wondering! You can see what I have read on my 2013 book list page and also can find me on Goodreads here.
I was thinking about all the books that I want to read this year, the list is very long. There are so many new and interesting books that are coming out, and a number of books that I have had on my list for a while. Unfortunately, a lot of these books are books that I am requesting from the library, and I end up being on a wait list. Not that I don’t love the library, I do, but when I have to wait for books, well it is a little frustrating.
What does one do when waiting for books – or money to buy new books – well, turn to books in a personal collection.
I was slightly ambivalent about including books I had already read on my 100 books list. But, then I thought that if I am reading the book, it didn’t really matter if I had read it before. So, I am starting to add some of those titles to my lists.
Then I started thinking about the books that I am re-reading, and realized that most of these books are books that I tend to read every year. Here are some of the ones that I am constantly revisiting year after year.
The Harry Potter series
The Twilight Saga – I may or may not have some Edward issues
Pride and Prejudice
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life
Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids – I read this for the first time last year, and am starting to read it again, it is excellent
Plenty: Eating Locally on the 100-Mile Diet
The Backyard Homestead
Organized Simplicity: The Clutter-Free Approach to Intentional Living
Do you have books that you read and read year after year? Do you only read books once and then move on? And well loved books that you want to suggest?
