I may be in a bit of denial about that looming tax
deadline. Now, I’m sure that if you are
expecting a refund, you aren’t that concerned.
But, for anyone that is going to owe money, putting off taxes seems to
be…normal.

Tax prep is probably my least favorite thing to do every year. There are the piles of paperwork that I
should have meticulously filed all year, which is shoved in folders in a filing
cabinet. Definitely not the most
exciting task!

However, there are a lot of mobile helps today for my iPhone 6 that I love. Coupled with the amazing
nationwide network coverage of U.S. Cellular, it makes tax time a little bit
easier to handle.

Did you know that
according to the IRS, nearly 126 million taxpayers e-filed their taxes in 2015?

I know that we always e-file. I love the convenience of it. And with so many more people using their
smartphones to manage their finances (59% according to a recent U.S. Cellular
survey), having mobile capabilities during tax time is important.

Ah, the dreaded taxes. So glad that's over with. Great tips and apps, that I haven't heard of.
Great post.

I have always loved TurboTax until this year, when I had to file an amended return. I have never had so much difficulty doing taxes as I did this year. I think it's a combo of DH being employed all year in a state other than the one we live, me be a blogger and income from various sources, and us getting married last year. Whatever happened to the days of one or two W-2s and that was it? lol Needless to say, I have signed up for TurboTax Self Employed to help me keep my expenses straight through the year for next year. Here's to an easier time filing taxes NEXT year!
I hate doing taxes. TurboTax is my go to.
Ahhhhh I'm so clueless when it comes to taxes and anything math really that I pay someone to do it! I'm so scared I will make some blonde moment mistake and get an audit
Love these suggestions…I wonder if my accountant uses them 😉 My goal this year with taxes was to get them filed by the end of February…and I did it!!
These apps sound amazing! I am so horrible with counting, it is a real nightmare to me. Thank you for sharing
These APPS are such great ideas. I pick the option where someone does our taxes for us. But I'll def pass these along if anyone asks for some tax recommends!
I hate taxes! But I do love these app suggestions because I need a better way of tracking my receipts for tax time.
We already have our taxes done, can you believe it? I had no idea there were such helpful apps out there. My hubby does use his phone for some finance things.
Fortunately, I don't have to file this year. You can guarantee I'll be looking this up next year, though!
These are great! We already finished our taxes but I'll have to remember this for next year! <3
I have an accountant do my taxes every year but I do however use my phone to record some things for tax season – like mileage.
I have been using turbo tax since the very first year it came to be. Early 2000's maybe? I am a huge fan. Super easy and love the step by step questions.
Thank goodness I'm done with my but will definitely save and keep this in mind for next time.
I retired from a job where I did taxes for large corporations. It is incredible how technology has changed and so much is available via apps. These are wonderful suggestions for tax return assistance
My husband do most of the job doing our taxes, but these are great apps, that I'd love to show him, perhaps he might want to use one of them. Thanks for sharing this.
I need to finish up my taxes. They are almost done. I need to look into all of these to make them a little bit easier!
I filed my taxes just last week. I will have to look into Expensify. I need a way to track my expenses so I don't go over budget. I always use TurboTax for my taxes and didn't realize they had an app. Score!
Thankfully I am not on taxes just yet! But great apps that I will keep in mind when I start making more money on my blog.
I'm definitely going to check out expensify. I need something to get ahead of the game for next year because I'm still struggling to finish mine this year!
While I love my cell phone, I'm not so comfortable using it to file my taxes. I however e-file every year and Turbo Tax is always my go to site.
Some great info here….. I used to use turbotax and loved it. 🙂
Taxes are not my thing. I dont even know what I'd do if I had to do them on my own. My huz uses TurboTax though.
Taxes can be so tricky to do. These apps would help out greatly!
This is such a great idea!
Thankfully, I was going to owe until my mother who is a tax guru fixed everything and we actually got a tiny refund back. However, we just signed our state taxes two days ago so we were a bit behind, haha.
Our taxes are SUCH a pain because my husband is a pastor and I'm self employed so there are a lot of red tape issues!! We just pay someone else to do them. But, before I complicated it by getting married… lol, I used TurboTax religiously!!
The Mister has gone back and forth between using TaxAct and TurboTax…simply because he can never remember which one he used last year. We filed together this year though (well, kind of, anyway) and so went through TurboTax. I wish they were more upfront about how much it all costs, though! I'm not sure, though, that I would trust my tax stuff to be going through a mobile app. Some apps are great…some are junk. And if you're using your data plan versus your home's wifi…oh I wouldn't trust that either, ha. I used to have my banking app on my phone…until, well, I thought about it and realized how many wifi networks are probably trying to connect to your device while you're out and about…nope, that can stay on the home network!
Also, yes, a tad paranoid 😉
We just did our taxes and I wish I had known about these. They sound like they will be a big help for next year though.
I didn't know about some of these. Thanks for sharing!!
I am married to the IRS, literally, so he does our taxes. I am not sure what he uses as long as he gets 'em done 🙂
