5 Simple Ways to Boost Protein for Women
How do you boost protein? It seems to be the one thing that I keep hearing about lately. It makes sense, we all need protein, especially as we get older. We are constantly going and need the fuel to keep us going. I decided to do a little analysis on the amount of protein I was eating in a day, and guys, it was abysmal. I don’t eat a ton of meat, and so my primary sources of protein are beans, quinoa, and fish. It was not nearly enough for my body.

I was really excited when Naked Nutrition reached out to me to try their Naked Whey. Naked Whey is grass fed whey protein. It is sourced from small non-GMO dairy farms. That was what initially made me excited to try this, in order to get an increase in my daily protein. It is also free of additives and artificial sweeteners which I have found difficult to find when looking for a good protein supplement. The unflavored version has just one ingredient – grass-fed whey protein concentrate. It can be added to just about anything to give you a boost!
Finding simple ways to boost protein is important. We are all busy, and adding one more thing to our to-do list seems almost impossible. But, these 5 simple ways to boost protein every day are going to be super easy, I promise!
1. Add Protein to Your Morning Smoothie
Mornings are chaos, right? A quick smoothie is something easy that you can make to get through the day. All you need to do is blend 2 scoops of Naked Whey in with your morning smoothie to get 25g of added protein. My basic smoothie recipe of spinach, a banana, some frozen mixed berries and almond milk with the added protein has been a game changer. It helps get me going first thing in the morning – something I have sorely needed with how busy things have been lately!
2. Power Up Your Baking
I absolutely love to bake muffins. It is a staple in our home all through the fall and winter. My kids know that we will most likely be having muffins at some point during the week, and replacing a bit of flour with the Unflavored Naked Whey is an easy way to get a little protein into the banana muffins that we seem to always be making. As an aside, why do bananas ripen so quickly? If you are adventurous, a little trial and error will work for how much flour you need to replace. But, Naked Nutrition also has a whole host of recipes that you can try out.
3. Make Protein-Packed Snacks with Your Husband
My husband absolutely loves greek yogurt, and is also always trying to get more protein into his diet as well. So adding a scoop of the unflavored Naked Whey and mixing it into his greek yogurt is a win-win. Add some fresh berries and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, and you have a protein-packed snack to help make it through the afternoon.
4. Sip a Simple Protein Shake
There are a bunch of different flavor options that Naked Nutrition offers for the Naked Whey. They offer Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Double Chocolate. The flavored versions do contain organic coconut sugar, but the nutrition labels speak for themselves, just a couple of ingredients! 2 scoops of Naked Whey plus the milk of your choice, shake it up and you are good to go out to co-op or a field trip first thing in the morning.
5. Upgrade Your Oatmeal
Oatmeal is one of those staples in our house. I think my kids have eaten it as their main breakfast for about 60% of their breakfasts of the years. It is also a super easy way to sneak in some more protein for me. You can use Naked Whey in some fun overnight oats recipes, or just mix it into your normal oatmeal giving it a creamy, protein boost.
The Bottom Line
Boosting protein doesn’t have to be complicated, and Naked Whey makes it effortless. I love that the unflavored version is so easy to add to just about anything to give you a bit of extra protein. I am also excited to try the chocolate peanut butter version though, because that sounds absolutely to die for!
Have you tried Naked Nutrition before? If not, definitely give them a look. One other item that I have been eying on their website is the protein coffee. You all know how much coffee factors into my days, and this sounds so interesting!
